According to many people, Maheep has been lying about her age. In one debate, someone commented,
“ Internet tells us that Maheep was born in 1982 and got married in 1997. Sanjay Kapoor was born in 1965. So Sanjay was 32 and Maheep was 15 years when they got married? “. Later, no official statement has been given by Maheep.

- At an early age, Maheep along with her family moved to Perth, Australia. After married Sanjay Kapoor, she returned to India.
