- Rajesh Tailang was born and brought up in Rajasthan, India. His grandfather’s name was Late Govind Lal Goswami who was a popular tabla player as well as a haveli sangeet exponent.
- In an interview, Rajesh said that once he got a chance to click a photo with Amitabh Bachchan. After that, he wanted to be like him. Later, he acted with the legendary Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan in a film.
- When he was just 13 years old, he acted in the Doordarshan TV serial Dhai Akshar ( 1989). He had two choices either to join the National School of Drama or to continue acting. He chooses the second option.
