Jisshu Ujjwal Sengupta was born on 15 March 1977; He is a leading Indian actor who mainly works in Bengali cinema. Besides, he also appeared in a few Hindi and English movies. Jisshu started his career with a Bengali television serial, Mahaprabhu, where he played the character of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. 2004 he debuted in Bollywood with the National Award-winning film Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose: The Forgotten Hero. However, movies like Sesh Bole Kichu Nei (2014), Rajkahini (2015), Byomkesh O Chiriyakhana (2016), Zulfiqar (2016), and Posto ( movie) (2017) gave him huge frames.

Jishu Sengupta was born in a Baidya Brahmin family in Calcutta (now Kolkata), West Bengal. His father’s name is Ujjwal Sengupta who is also a Bengali actor. His mother’s name is Mukta Sengupta. Jisshu has an elder sister named Satarupa Sengupta. In 2004, Jisshu married his long-time girlfriend Nilanjana Sharma, and the couple has two daughters named Sara Sengupta and Zara Sengupta.

- Since childhood, Jisshu has been interested in playing cricket and now he is the captain of the ‘ Bengali Tiger T-20 Team in the Indian Celebrity Cricket League.
